Drew McIntyre has told the story behind a certain photo that caught the attention of fans online.
As has been seen in the past few months on WWE TV and on social media, McIntyre and CM Punk hate each other. Both have promised blood in their upcoming Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood and seem hell-bent on making sure that only one man walks out of the structure. Additionally, both men have stated in interviews that there is some real-life tension that has played into the feud.
While many fans have been captivated by the Punk and McIntyre rivalry and believe it is the best rivalry in wrestling right now, a photo that was snapped that saw the two bitter enemies casually standing together before the show went on the air broke the fourth wall. As a result of this, some fans were up in arms as they believed it shattered the illusion and should not have been made public despite the fact that the inner workings have been known for decades.

While speaking with Ryan Gaydos of Fox News, McIntyre brought up the tension that is there each week and also commented on the aforementioned photo with is rival:
“You can feel the tension,” he said. “Everyone could feel the tension when him and I are near each other. We have to be professionals and do our job. We understand, we’ve been doing this a long time, that real personal issues, real hatred draws money. We also know when that bell rings, we can really lean into each other.
None of us are going to complain and when we’re on the microphone, we can see how we feel. Both of us have thick skin unlike a lot of our superstars – they want to cry whenever I tweet about them. I do appreciate that about them.
But you can feel the tension when we’re around. And I remember there was some picture that came out online recently, and it was the big talk of the internet because (CM) Punk and I were close to each other during the day and it was, ‘Oh my God, they really don’t dislike each other.’
I was like, yeah, you frickin’ idiots. You don’t go to your office job and have to stand beside the guy you don’t like in your office occasionally just because someone snapped a picture of that moment because we’re dealing with a situation you have to deal with in your profession even if you can’t stand the p—k.
Drew McIntyre Elaborates On What’s Next
Both Punk and McIntyre have made it clear that once all is said and done at Bad Blood then their rivalry will be over. In a previous interview, Drew McIntyre discussed what his plans are in WWE after the CM Punk match.
