Drew McIntyre – “The Future Doesn’t Matter”

Drew McIntyre stands over Gunther at WWE Money In The Bank

Drew McIntyre made a stunning return to WWE at Money In The Bank, but the real question is how long will he be sticking around for?

The Scottish star had been out of the ring since WrestleMania 39 due to a series of injuries needing time to heal. This absence also came against a backdrop of serious uncertainty, with reports emerging that his contract — which runs out in early 2024 — wasn’t close to being extended, while the star was said to be frustrated over money and creative.

However, with McIntyre back on Raw and taking aim at Gunther, it seems another big run with the company is on the horizon.

Appearing on The Bump, McIntyre gave little away about his future while apologising to fans for taking time away.

“I just want to apologize for everybody, that I missed my dates, I missed the towns. It’s not like me, unless there’s a reason. Obviously, the rumor and innuendo is out there. What’s going on with Drew McIntyre? What’s going on with the future? The future doesn’t matter. What matters is the present, and presently, Drew McIntyre is back. If you’re heading to a WWE show and Drew McIntyre’s there, you know you’re gonna get 110%, and finally, I’m chasing that big moment with a title in front of live fans. So let’s make that happen finally,”

Drew McIntyre’s Long-Term Future Remains Uncertain

Although Drew McIntyre is back with WWE for the time being, it appears his future is far less certain. Despite his return, it’s been reported that he’s still yet to agree a new deal with the company. However, due to time added because of his recent injury-related absence, he could remain with WWE until WrestleMania 40 without signing a new contract.
