Drew McIntyre was unable to unseat Roman Reigns as WWE Universal Champion but the star has now usurped Reigns’ Bloodline as WWE’s top merchandise mover.
Drew McIntyre was front and centre as WWE brought a stadium show to the UK for the first time in over thirty years with September’s Clash at the Castle. Taking place in Cardiff, Wales the event was not quite a homecoming for The Scottish Warrior but the crowd was firmly behind him as over 60,000 fans screamed him on to dethrone Roman Reigns as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
But McIntyre’s dreams remained broken as Solo Siko debuted on the WWE main roster to help his cousin retain his championships.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently reported some good news for Drew McIntyre as he recently overtook the “perennial” top merchandise seller, The Bloodline, into first place. Although Meltzer suggests an expected imminent return could see a new number one in the coming weeks:
”McIntyre has some momentum as two weeks ago his merch was No. 1 in the company. Bloodline these days is the perennial No. 1 and I presume coming out of the gates that the Wyatt stuff will probably sell big.”
Drew McIntyre will be in action at Extreme Rules in Philadelphia where he will do battle with Karrion Kross in a Strap Match.
