Drew McIntyre has cast an eye to the future as he considers a very familiar face that might well end up inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Drew McIntyre has had a tumultuous WWE career since he debuted in the company way back in 2009. Despite an Intercontinental Championship reign and a run as a WWE Tag Team Champion, McIntyre’s first run in the company didn’t have many imagining he’d be a future WWE Hall of Famer.
The Scottish star returned to the company in 2017 after a three-year hiatus and this time things were very different. Drew McIntyre won the 2020 men’s Royal Rumble and subsequently captured the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 – the first of his two runs with that title.
Speaking on the Hollywood Raw podcast, Drew McIntyre was asked to think about his future and who he thinks should induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame, settling on a familiar friend and foe for the job:
“Oh god, it’s gonna end up being Sheamus, isn’t it? He’s been there since before we both got signed, through the good times and the bad times.”
“I’m the Best Man at his wedding coming up, he was the Best Man at my wedding. We give each other hell. We fight more than me and my actual brother fight, and people get to see it on TV.”
“God, do I want him to do it? After all the things he knows?”
Sheamus also debuted in WWE in 2009 and Drew McIntyre recently discussed how the two men were sent to Raw and SmackDown to sit under the most influential of learning trees.
