Drew McIntyre could potentially be planning a big surprise for the WWE Universe during his entrance at Clash at the Castle.
Since being released from WWE in 2014 Drew McIntyre has revitalised his career, returning to the company in 2017 and becoming the first British world champion.
During his initial run with the company in 2009, McIntyre was billed as The Chosen One, where he was hand-picked by Vince McMahon to be a future World Champion. Whilst that would eventually come true during his current spell with the WWE, there are not too many fond memories from that first period of McIntyre’s WWE career.
However, one highlight from this time was his theme song; ‘Broken Dreams’. Numerous fans have expressed their fondness of the theme with many routing for it to return.
Speaking to Quetzalli Bulnes on WWE EspaƱol’s “El Brunch de WWE“, McIntyre recognised the song’s popularity and also revealed that Broken Dreams was not the song he was originally given:
“It was my song when I was ‘The Chosen One and people are talking about it for some reason a lot recently. I asked them, ‘can you find a different song that maybe suits the character more?’ and they came back with Broken Dreams. It really took off,” McIntyre said, “It sold as many as Cena’s online, I believe, which is crazy.”
The former WWE champion discussed the possibility of using the song again in the future :
“I talk about the possibility of having it for a big match, so fingers crossed, [I am] always working to make things happen, I can promise people that.”
The Scottish Warrior squares off against Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle on September 3 for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The bout will take place in the United Kingdom, giving McIntyre the home advantage.
This might just be the perfect opportunity for Broken Dreams to make a return and be used once again.
