Drew McIntyre’s contract situation with WWE is currently cloudly, but a new report is indicating that the former WWE Champion has a commitment to the company through the first-quarter of 2024.
According to sources via PWInsider, McIntyre is locked into a deal with WWE until or around WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. The heavy focus for the company right now is finalizing the major company merger between WWE and Endeavor, which is to take place next week. WWE likely has added time to negotiate with McIntyre due to the time he took away from the ring following WrestleMania 39.
PWInsider reported earlier in 2023 that McIntyre’s contract with WWE would expire in early 2024.
Drew McIntyre Focuses On “The Here And Now”
Drew McIntyre was arguably the MVP for WWE during the global pandemic as Vince McMahon and the company selected him to be the flag-bearer, defeating Brock Lesnar to become the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 36 in front of an empty crowd. He, along with Sheamus and Gunther also put on a “banger” of a triple threat match at WrestleMania 39 for the Intercontinental Title.
Despite all his accolades and the uncertainty with what the future may hold for him, McIntyre made clear he aims to focus on the present.
“I keep reading the internet myself. I just saw something earlier. The internet keeps talking about my future, I guess, but my focus is on the here and now. I don’t look to the future. I don’t look to the past. I look to the present. My job right now is just making sure we give everybody in Hyderabad the best show possible and I’ll continue to give the best performance I can give at every show.”
Drew McIntyre shared his thoughts on his latest Raw appearance on an interview with Raw Talk.
