Drew McIntyre is being honored in his home country of Scotland ahead of Clash at the Castle.
WWE took to social media on June 13th to congratulate Drew McIntyre on being the first active wrestler to be inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame. The Ayr native began his wrestling career all the way back in 2001 in the UK.
Included in the congratulatory post was a video of McIntyre reacting to the honor, and he had this to say:
“I’m just struggling to find the words. Usually I’m not lost for words, I feel like I’m pretty articulate even when I’m jet lagged, but it’s just hard to put this into words. Hopefully my face says it all. It’s just disbelief. I’m in Ibrox Stadium where my football club play, being inducted in the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame, the only active member to be inducted in it the same weekend as Clash at the Castle, the first Scottish PLE, and fighting for the World Title. I mean, what is life right now? It’s mental. Living the dream.”
Drew McIntyre Will Challenge Damian Priest At Clash At The Castle
At WrestleMania 40, Drew McIntyre successfully defeated Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. However, his victory was short-lived as an attack from CM Punk set the stage for Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and capture the title for himself.
Now, McIntyre is set to challenge Priest in an attempt to regain the championship at Clash at the Castle on June 15th. The latest edition of Monday Night Raw saw a stipulation added to the bout as The Judgment Day will be banned from ringside.
In an exclusive interview with Inside The Ropes, Drew McIntyre has detailed the key factors that have been responsible for his main event resurgence.
