Drew McIntyre Reactivates Social Media; Breaks Silence After Brutalising CM Punk

Drew McIntyre deactivated his social media on Monday after ‘quitting’ WWE, but has already made a bold return after brutalising CM Punk!

After his unsuccessful World Heavyweight Championship challenge at Clash At The Castle thanks to CM Punk, Drew McIntyre proclaimed that he was ‘quitting’ WWE on this past Monday’s Raw. After storming out of the venue in a fit of anger, McIntyre subsequently deactivated all of his social media accounts.

Just days later, however, McIntyre made a surprise appearance on last night’s SmackDown where he viciously assaulted Punk in the parking lot. The Scottish Warrior proceeded to carry his long-time rival through the backstage area and out to the arena, dumping him on the entrance ramp in a bloodied heap before being shied away by Nick Aldis and other officials.

Just minutes after his attack, McIntyre reinstated his social media accounts and posted a photo on X of The Boys’ Homelander smiling while covered head-to-toe in blood. A second photo followed just over an hour later of Punk covered in blood from his attack, which he has since made his profile picture.

What Inspired Drew McIntyre’s Aggressive & Sadistic WWE Persona?

Over the last year, Drew McIntyre has adopted a far more aggressive persona after multiple failed attempts to capture either the World Heavyweight or Intercontinental Championships.

Speaking to Inside The Ropes’ own Kenny McIntosh ahead of Clash At The Castle last week, McIntyre opened up about drawing inspiration from his time as Drew Galloway on the independents and his Scottish roots for his latest character. He also addressed the idea that his uncertain contract situation earlier this year played a part.

Drew McIntyre has issued a fresh update following the attack, calling CM Punk a “dumb-headed f*ck” in the process.
