Drew McIntyre has sent a stark warning to WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, ahead of their epic showdown on November 22 at Survivor Series.
After re-capturing the WWE Championship on Raw, McIntyre gave an exclusive interview to WWE.Com in which he put his opposite number on notice:
“You told me to go get a title, Roman. Well, I went and got a title. See you on Sunday.
Every time I hear Drew McIntyre WWE Champion, it never gets old. It feels like the first time [I won the title] every time, even though this is technically my second reign. Yet, I feel exactly the same as I did the first time. The only thing that makes it sweeter is I beat Randy Orton after everything we’ve been through. After everything he put me through personally, after everybody he attacked, and after taking my title away from me at Hell in a Cell, this felt pretty freaking good.”
The Scot’s words harked back to the events of Friday Night SmackDown on November 13 when McIntyre made a shock inter-brand appearance to confront ‘The Tribal Chief.’
After he had done away with Jey Uso later in that broadcast, McIntyre again found himself face-to-face with Roman who told him that they would talk if he could take back the WWE Championship.
Last month, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter opined that the plan for the main event of the elimination extravaganza was Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns. However, this looked doubtful when Randy Orton pinned ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ at Hell in a Cell to claim the gold.
On the November 16 edition of the red brand, Drew nailed Orton with a Claymore in the rematch to begin his second reign as WWE Champion and seal his place against Roman on November 22.
