A new report has revealed why former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was pulled from this weekend’s live events.
On the September 23rd edition of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre was involved in a brawl with Karrion Kross that ended when Scarlett attempted to throw a fireball in the Scottish Warrior’s face. However, when the fireball missed, she opted for a more traditional low blow to lay him out instead.
Despite making this appearance, however, McIntyre was absent from the weekend’s live events in Stockton and Fresno in California. He had been due to face Sheamus in a Street Fight at both shows.
Instead, the bout was replaced by Braun Strowman and the New Day teaming up to take on The Usos and Solo Sikoa in the Monster Among Men’s first live event appearances since returning to WWE on the September 5th edition of Raw.
According to PWInsider, Drew McIntyre was pulled from the event as he is currently suffering from a severe case of food poisoning.
The star seemingly got through SmackDown with the help of IV treatment and WWE made the decision to give him time off over the weekend to rest.
Drew McIntyre will be in action at Extreme Rules on October 8th. At the event, his rivalry with Karrion Kross will come to a head when the pair clash in a Strap Match.
