In recent weeks, the WWE future of Drew McIntyre has grown increasingly uncertain.
McIntyre hasn’t appeared for WWE since competing in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 39 against Sheamus and Intercontinental Champion Gunther. However, in the lead-up to that match, his future was thrown into question by reports that his contract with WWE is due to expire in 2023.
Furthermore, it is believed that McIntyre and WWE aren’t close to agreeing new terms, with the Scottish Warrior said to be unhappy with “creative and money.” To add even more intrigue to the situation, McIntyre blackout his social media on April 14th.
The most recent update on McIntyre noted that he was dealing with a health issue, something also present at WrestleMania, and would be absent from television for a few weeks.
Interestingly, McIntyre is also no longer being advertised for WWE Money In The Bank on July 1st. The former World Champion isn’t listed as a “featured Superstar” for the event on WWE.com as he was previously. Given the event is being held in London, and McIntyre’s huge popularity in the UK, it would be a major surprise for him not to be involved.
While McIntyre’s name has been removed, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has been added. You can find the full list of advertised stars below.
- Roman Reigns
- Becky Lynch
- Seth Rollins
- Cody Rhodes
- Bianca Belair
- Rhea Ripley
It’s important to add that cards are subject to change, but the removal of McIntyre appears to indicate that his status remains uncertain.
Which Brand Did Drew McIntyre Move To During The WWE Draft?
WWE’s entire talent roster just underwent a shake-up thanks to the WWE Draft. A number of NXT stars have been moved to the main roster, while Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship are now exclusive to SmackDown. This in turn meant that the new World Heavyweight Championship is exclusive to Raw.
Drew McIntyre was also on the move, being drafted to Raw in the third round on night one. He had previously appeared on SmacKDown.
