Drew McIntyre had more harsh words for CM Punk after SmackDown went off air.
The pair’s rivalry reached new heights at WrestleMania 40. After Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, he spent a little too long taunting Punk at ringside. The Straight Edge Superstar finally snapped and attacked McIntyre with his armbrace, this left the Scottish Warrior an easy target for Damian Priest, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to capture the gold.
McIntyre will have an opportunity to win the title back from Priest when WWE heads to Glasgow, Scotland for Clash at the Castle on June 15th, and the Scotsman is already thinking about what he will do after the event.
McIntyre competed in a dark match against Jey Uso after the May 31st edition of SmackDown went off the air. After the bout, he cut a promo to the live crowd, where he announced he would give Punk a title shot in the event he does beat Priest. He then claimed he would embarrass Punk “worse than he embarrassed himself in the UFC.”
“When I win the title, I’ll offer him a title match. His ego is so big, he will say ‘yes’ to the title match, social media will freak out, tickets will fly, there will be a buzz you’ve never seen. Punk and I will be in this ring, eye to eye with each other. The bell will ring, and then I’ll embarrass him worse than be embarrassed himself in the UFC and we’ll move on.”

Punk’s career in the MMA promotion wasn’t the success he likely hoped for. The star only had two UFC fights, losing his 2016 debut against Mickey Gall early in the first round, and then losing to Mike Jackson in 2018 via unanimous decision – although that result was later overturned as Jackson tested positive for marijuana. He officially retired from MMA in August 2021 after returning to professional wrestling.
WWE Hall of Famer “Proud” Of CM Punk’s UFC Career
Despite it being widely considered a failure, WWE Hall of Famer JBL is proud of what CM Punk did in UFC. JBL explained that it took a lot of guts and effort for Punk even to attempt the move to MMA, and he has since told him that personally.
In recent news, Drew McIntyre has issued a warning to CM Punk ahead of the upcoming Clash at the Castle PLE.
