As the anticipation builds for the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle event, Drew McIntyre, with his sights set on World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, hasn’t overlooked his longstanding rivalry with CM Punk.
In an exclusive interview with Cultaholic’s Tom Campbell ahead of the event on June 15th, McIntyre offered a cautionary message to the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’ should he consider making an appearance in Glasgow.
Expressing his concerns, McIntyre emphasised the potential repercussions of Punk’s involvement, drawing from their tumultuous history.
I think it would be a mistake for a number of reasons after what happened last time at Clash. I really do not want something like that to happen again to the UK… This is Glasgow… this is Scotland, this is different. I would strongly suggest not getting involved or doing anything to rock the boat during this show as there’s a genuine chance you’ll get jumped.
The Scottish powerhouse further underscored the gravity of the situation by alluding to the local security’s potential response, stating:
And there’s a genuine chance the security guards won’t stop them because they’re Scottish as well. I’m telling you, there’s a good chance you’ll get jumped and security will help jump you if you get involved in my match.
What Did Drew McIntyre Say About CM Punk’s UFC Career?
After the May 31st episode of SmackDown went off the air Drew McIntyre cut a promo and mocked CM Punk’s UFC career, McIntyre said that when he wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship he will offer Punk a title match and will “embarrass him worse than he embarrassed himself in the UFC.”
In recent news a WWE NXT Superstar branded CM Punk a “hypocrite.”
