Drew McIntyre has once again let his feelings be known about CM Punk.
For the last 2 weeks, Punk has gotten under the skin of McIntyre with his mind games. Beginning on the April 29th Raw, Punk called out McIntyre from the skybox but was in the ring by the time The Scottish Warrior made his way up to the top of the arena. Once again at a safe distance, Punk fired multiple shots at McIntyre.
One week later on May 6th, Drew McIntyre was pulled from the King of the Ring tournament due to injury. As an irate McIntyre blasted Adam Pearce for the decision and drove out of the arena, Punk conveniently arrived just seconds later. With no McIntyre to distract him, Punk made fun of McIntyre’s short title reign at WrestleMania 40
The next day, McIntyre took to social media to address Punk’s comments and the warning for Clash at the Castle. Despite crediting Punk for his verbal skills, McIntyre called out the Chicago native’s hypocrisy:
“There is a reason I do a lot of my talking on here. It’s not always possible to deliver a message on live TV effectively with so many people working against you. You saw that with (Adam ) Pearce [On Raw]. You hear people like the ‘trusted voice of WWE’ Michael Cole plant lies into our viewer’s heads. Nobody can stop me here from embarrassing CM Punk, again. All I want is for people to see one simple thing, the truth. Someone show me where I lied and I’ll admit fault. I haven’t.
I’ll give Punk his props, he’s a master at spinning the narrative to suit his own image and agenda. He should consider politics after I end his career. The guy can literally sell ice to an eskimo. He sells the marks BS and they just lap it up every single time. [On Raw], as I literally left the arena, what a coincidence, he drove right in. Of course he has stooges on the inside. He heads to the ring, acts like a tough guy, calls me a coward when it’s clear to anyone with sense that the coward was standing right there in that right. My phone was blowing up, I got back to the arena, shock and horror, he left.”
Continuing, McIntyre stated that when they do finally meet there will only be one outcome before once again calling out Punk for making references that only “basement dwellers” understand:
“The week before, he picks the skybox and calls me out. As soon as I get there, where do I find him? He’s in the ring. He’s the one doing the running. He knows that when he comes face-to-face, that’s the end. No more mouth running and ‘I’m going to punch his face.’ I’m going to cave his actual head in. Look at my track record, he’s done for. He knows it. He’s maximizing his time, he’s getting what he can out of this before Drew McIntyre exposes him. I’d run from me too.
Punk, you’re a hypocrite. You say all I do is live on social media. You spend the whole week pretending to be locked in WWE headquarters and then you post it to Instagram. You make these comments on TV that only the nerdiest of basement dwellers would actually understand. Let’s break down what you’ve actually done since you’ve stunk this place up. Break down is the operative word here.”
Ending his tirade, McIntyre called out Punk for getting injured in his return match and issued a warning for Clash at the Castle in June:
“You’ve had exactly one televised fight. You lost, you got injured, by me. You hung around at TV, headquarters, the PC like a bad smell. Go home to Larry. You’re playing a game of hide and seek you think you’re winning, but you’re not. One last thing, I heard what you said. If you actually turn up to Glasgow, you’re not going to leave in one piece.”
Drew McIntyre Continues CM Punk Threats
With Punk costing McIntyre’s reign as World Heavyweight Champion and an opportunity at a rematch, The Scottish Warrior remains determined to end Punk’s career once and for all no matter how badly either one of them are injured. In a previous interview, Drew McIntyre explained why CM Punk did not deserve the easy way out.
H/t to Fightful.
