Drew McIntyre Outlines Plan To Headbutt Chris Sutton

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has joked about his plans to headbutt former Premier League and Celtic star Chris Sutton when WWE comes to the UK.

Wrestling fans in the UK and Europe had their prayers answered after thirty years when WWE announced that they would be bringing a special premium live event to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in September 2022. The last time the company put on a show of this magnitude across the pond was in 1992 when Wembley Stadium in London hosted that year’s SummerSlam which was headlined by Bret Hart and The British Bulldog.

The as-yet-unnamed event is already the hottest ticket in town with 59,000 fans already registering their interest in tickets.

One man sure of a great reception when the UK comes to the UK is two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. McIntyre has previously spoken of his desire for WWE to bring a stadium show back to the UK but says he might just pay a visit to a former Premier League footballer before getting to Cardiff.

Drew McIntyre has had many a social media spat with Chris Sutton over the years with McIntyre a loyal Rangers supporter while Sutton won four Scottish league titles with their Glasgow rivals, Celtic.

Speaking to BT Sport, Drew McIntyre was asked about Chris Sutton and said he’d love to see him before WWE gets to the Principality Stadium:

“I can’t forget about Chris Sutton but I don’t think he’s gonna make it to Cardiff though. We’re just gonna get to the UK to start promoting the event and then you and I can take a jaunt through the UK doing some media spots, we’ll show up at his house and just headbutt him, get it on film. That’s good enough, he doesn’t have to come to the show, I’m just headbutting him on his doorstep [laughs].”

While Chris Sutton might not have a chance to show McIntyre his medals when WWE invades Cardiff, here’s a look at five celebrities who might be in attendance at the event.
