Drew McIntyre Gets Honest About His Relationship With The Rock

Drew McIntyre The Rock WWE

Drew McIntyre has opened up on his relationship with The Rock.

At Elimination Chamber 2024, John Cena turned heel and joined hands with The Rock. Stabbing Cody Rhodes in the back, Cena formed an alliance with The Final Boss in his pursuit of his 17th World title.

However, before Cena and Rock came together, multiple speculations were raised about who could be the one becoming The Rock’s Champion. While many fans guessed Rhodes to turn heel, another popular guess was Drew McIntyre. Over the past few years, McIntyre has maintained a good relationship with Dwayne Johnson and recently opened up about it.

During a recent interview with Daily Star, Drew McIntyre addressed his relationship with The Rock and shared his honest thoughts on it.

I absolutely can not tell you any information on that, but what I can tell you is one of the narratives I see online is that people don’t pay close attention to the stories. Why is Drew always talking about The Rock? I thought he hated the Bloodline? No, I hate people that wronged me personally. If somebody wronged me, I have an issue with them, just like anybody in real life.

The Rock has actively looked out for me my whole career since I was a kid. Himself and his business partner ex-wife Danny have always said such positive things to me. He put me over in a TMZ interview when I wasn’t doing anything in particular that justified him saying I was going to be the next big star when I re-signed with the company.

You know, he’d sent the sword, sent me some really nice words that I’ll never reveal to the world. We got a chance to catch up at the Chamber. We had a really good talk and there are some things on the horizon, some big things in the world. We’ll see when it’s time.”

While Cena and Rhodes eye their Mania 41 main event match, McIntyre finds himself in a feud against Damian Priest, and no title match at the upcoming WWE WrestleMania 41.

Drew McIntyre Has Addressed His WrestleMania 41 Match Against Damian Priest

In an interview with The Daily Star, Drew McIntyre addressed the possibility of facing Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41.

“We’ve still got six weeks until Mania and anything can change in that time. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t p****d off at not being in one of the title matches after the 2024 I had, but it’s just because I’m so highly competitive and sometimes, you know, there’s only a few spots.

“I appreciated when the fans reaction was, oh my goodness, it’s Priest and Drew, there’s nothing there. I’m like bloody hell, give us a chance to tell the story. The thing with Priest has been going on since last year’s WrestleMania when he cashed in on me after I was assaulted by Punk. He doesn’t know how to succeed unless it is at my expense. Elimination Chamber I claymore Cena. Instead of going ‘I’ll let Drew pin Cena first’, he eliminates me.

“It’s the only way he knows how to succeed because he is a vulture. A parasite. A big emo vulture. Finally, he’s got my attention because they’ve got nothing else. I stomped him in his big stupid head last week and if he wants to keep coming back for more, if it goes all the way to Mania, it’s a year in the making story and he deserves the biggest stage of all to get his stupid looking arse kicked.”

In other news: Goldberg has revealed the concerns he had ahead of his first WWE match in Saudi Arabia.

In a new interview, a WWE legend has credited The Rock with helping them land a major opportunity.
