Drew McIntyre Deletes Controversial AEW Reference To CM Punk

Drew McIntyre has taken things to a new level with his tormenting of CM Punk.

McIntyre’s social media has been a highlight in the past few months with no topic seemingly off limits as The Scottish Warrior has mocked Punk for missing WrestleMania and has even referenced the infamous AEW All Out 2023 media scrum by paying a visit to Mindy’s Baker in Chicago, who made the muffins Punk ate while he aired his grievances. Just when it looked as if McIntyre had gone as far as he could with a Colt Cabana reference, the 3-time World Champion took things to a whole new level on July 25th.

In a social media post that has since been deleted, McIntyre is seen pictured with AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry, who had a physical altercation with Punk at All In 2023, resulting in Punk being suspended and ultimately terminated one week later.

To further draw the anger of Punk, McIntyre captioned the photo with the statement “It’s a real photo, cry us a river”, referencing the infamous “Real glass, go cry me a river” line that Perry uttered at All In to lead to the aforementioned altercation. Despite the fact that Punk later returned to WWE in November that year at Survivor Series, AEW played footage of the Punk and Perry CCTV footage on an episode of Dynamite back in April.

Drew McIntyre Finally Gets His Opportunity At Revenge On CM Punk

With Punk continually looking to antagonise McIntyre at every opportunity and McIntyre out for revenge, fans have been eagerly anticipating the long-awaited clash between the two Raw stars. On the July 22nd episode of Raw, it was confirmed that Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk would take place at SummerSlam with Seth Rollins acting as the special guest referee.

In a new interview, Drew McIntyre channelled his inner Marvel knowledge to insult CM Punk.
