Drew McIntyre Calls Out John Cena Over WWE Raw Promo In Glasgow

Drew McIntyre has publicly taken issue with John Cena’s latest promo on Raw, which took place in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 24.

Much like his appearance in Brussels the week before, Cena opened the show with a scathing promo aimed at the local crowd. The 16-time world champion promised to “ruin wrestling” when he captures his record-breaking seventeenth world title at WrestleMania 41, now just over three weeks away.

The Glasgow crowd inside the OVO Hydro responded with deafening chants of “Shut the fu*k up” and “Fu*k you, Cena,” but the backlash wasn’t limited to the audience.

Taking to X, Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre retweeted a clip of Cena’s promo, specifically highlighting Cena’s claim that he is “the one guy who actually always tells the truth.” McIntyre, clearly unimpressed, posted a cryptic response alongside an image of a man with his head submerged in a bowl of ice water, a meme about fitness influencer Ashton Hall’s morning routine.

McIntyre had hinted before Raw that he was pushing to appear on the show in his home country, telling fans he was “shouting at the right people.” However, despite his efforts, he did not feature on the broadcast.

Since January, McIntyre has been part of the SmackDown roster and is currently locked in a feud with Damian Priest, leading into WrestleMania 41.

What Did Drew McIntyre Say About Being Frustrated With His WrestleMania 41 Match?

Drew McIntyre admitted that he is frustrated that he isn’t involved in a title match at WrestleMania 41 after having a great run in 2024. McIntyre said that he is annoyed due to his competitive nature but then hyped up his rivalry with Damian Priest, who is set to face at WrestleMania, labelling Priest a vulture and a parasite because of his cash in of his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre at WrestleMania 40, and because Priest eliminated him from the 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber match.
