Further details have emerged surrounding WWE’s decision to let Drew Gulak go.
On May 3rd, it was reported that Drew Gulak was one of several stars released from WWE during a round of cuts to the NXT roster. The news came just weeks after Ronda Rousey accused Drew Gulak of misconduct backstage in WWE, alleging that he’d grabbed the string of her sweatpants despite the two being barely acquaintances.
While Gulak claimed the incident was an accident, he was removed from multiple events over WrestleMania weekend and was absent from TV, having seemingly been written off when the No Quarter Catch Crew made reference to Tony D’Angelo’s crew “taking care” of a former member.
These circumstances led many to believe Gulak’s release was directly related to Rousey’s accusations. However, when questioned about it at the post-Backlash press conference, Triple H disputed that Gulak was released, saying that his contract simply isn’t being renewed. The WWE CCO did not address Rousey’s claims in his response.
“We release talent all the time. NFL releases 400 or 500 players a year. We release talent all the time, it’s a part of what we do. You cannot just hire people, bring them in, keep hiring more people, and just keep bringing them in. So an unfortunate part of the job is talent get released. Can I say that he was released? He was not released. His contract was just not renewed.”

Details Of Drew Gulak’s Bullying Behaviour Emerge
Now, Fightful Select has reported that Ronda Rousey‘s claims initiated an investigation into both the incident and Gulak himself. While his public response to Rousey is said to have made things worse for him, it was seemingly not the determining factor for Gulak’s time in WWE to come to an end.
Several talents told Fightful that Gulak was a “bully” who was known to target legitimate injuries during matches. One incident is alleged to have seen him re-dislocating the finger of a star who had previously had the same injury. In another incident, Gulak is said to have been reprimanded by Shawn Michaels and other NXT coaches for “spiking” a star during a match.
