Dr. Britt Baker – “Honestly, I’m Worth More Than MJF”

AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker DMD believes she’ll be the subject of a bigger wrestling bidding war come 2024 than MJF.

Britt Baker has taken the wrestling world by storm since embracing a whole new self-important attitude in AEW and staking her place at one of the faces of the company.

Baker only began her wrestling career in 2015, working on the independent scene before becoming one of the first signees to AEW when the company formed at the beginning of 2019. Initially working as a fan favourite in the company, Baker’s career really took off as she showed off a whole new attitude and added Rebel to her entourage to watch her back.

The good doctor claimed the biggest win of her career at Double Or Nothing in 2021 when she defeated Hikaru Shida to become AEW Women’s World Champion, a title she continues to hold into 2022.

Baker has also been touted – specifically by CM Punk – as one of the four pillars of AEW in response to MJF’s claim that he is one of the lynchpins of the company. MJF has also touted a potential bidding war when his AEW contract is up in 2024 but Britt Baker thinks wrestling companies might be saving their money for her instead.

Speaking to Brandon Walker on Rasslin’, Baker claimed that 2022, 2023, and 2024 would be “The year of Britt Baker” but after that, people better have their chequebooks at the ready:

“Then, somebody is going to be paying a lot of money because that is right around the time my contract is up. Honestly, I’m worth more than Max. If you owned a wrestling company, in today’s landscape, is MJF worth more money, or is Britt Baker worth more money? He thinks he’s more important, I think I’m more important. I built an entire women’s division from the ground up.”

Britt Baker recently spoke exclusively to Inside The Ropes magazine about her relationship with legendary announcer Tony Schiavone and how he is responsible for much of Baker’s on-screen success.
