Doudrop’s Heel Run Was Reportedly Originally Meant For Nia Jax

Doudrop yells at Bianca Belair

A new report has claimed that Doudrop’s current heel run was originally planned for recently released WWE Superstar Nia Jax.

Doudrop was brought to the WWE Roster by Eva Marie in June 2021. The two went on to team for some time, with Doudrop doing the heavy lifting while the ‘Red Queen’ claimed the credit.

The situation came to a head at SummerSlam when Eva Marie was beaten by Alexa Bliss and attempted to blame Doudrop for the loss. The former Piper Niven turned on Marie, declaring her as the loser and mocking her, so becoming a babyface.

She went on to defeat Marie twice on Raw, ending their feud. Following this, she entered the Queen’s Crown tournament, reaching the finals before ultimately being defeated by Zelina Vega at Crown Jewel.

On the November 9th episode of Raw, Doudrop appeared during a Fatal Five-Way match to determine the Number Oe contender for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. She brutally attacked Bianca Belair, turning heel once again.

However, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the storyline was originally meant for Nia Jax, who was one of 18 WWE Superstars released from their contracts with the company on November 4th.

At the time of her release, Jax was taking a leave of absence from WWE and has said that she asked for an extension to this on mental health grounds when they tried to schedule her return.

“The Doudrop spot was probably the spot they wanted Nia Jax in. Because if you remember they wanted Nia Jax back by mid-November and when she said no that’s when they fired her and that is when the Doudrop thing started being, you know.”

Doudrop is now firmly a heel and continues to feud with Bianca Belair. On the most recent episode of Raw, she once again attacked ‘The EST’ leaving her lying after a running crossbody.
