Door Reportedly Not Closed On Bryan Danielson Returning WWE

A new report has suggested that the door is not closed on Bryan Danielson returning to WWE despite him only signing with AEW in September.

Bryan Danielson made his AEW debut at All Out on September 5th ending a more than a decade long association with WWE.

After feuding with Roman Reigns and Edge over the Universal Championship in early 2021, Danielson met Reigns on the April 30th episode of SmackDown with his career on the line. Reigns eventually won the match to retain his title, meaning that Danielson was ‘banished’ from WWE.

It later transpired that the former World Champion’s contract expired the same night. While it was noted that WWE were keen to try and re-sign the star, he instead moved to AEW.

However, it has now come to light that the door remains open for Danielson to return to the company. A new report from Fightful Select has suggested that the ‘Leader of the Yes Movement’ would be welcomed back to the company after leaving on “very good terms.”

“When speaking to those within WWE, they said that they feel the door is open for a potential return for Danielson down the line and he left on “very good terms.”

Bryan Danielson joined WWE in 2009 after establishing himself as one of the most highly regarded wrestlers on the planet.

Despite being fired immediately after debuting on the main roster for being a little too enthusiastic about beating up Justin Roberts as The Nexus arrived on Monday Night Raw, Danielson was quickly re-hired.

What followed was a run which took Danielson to the top of the company and into the hearts of millions in the process. The American Dragon ended his time in WWE as a five-time World Champion, as well as a Grand Slam Champion.

Since signing with AEW, Danielson has battled World Champion Kenny Omega to a time limit draw and currently finds himself in the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.
