The President of the United States, Donald Trump, joined in the mourning of pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan’s passing.
Hogan was a huge supporter of Trump, as the President noted in his tribute, “Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way.” MAGA stands for ‘Make America Great Again.’ The term was popularized by the POTUS recently, representing his political ideologies for the future of the country.
U.S. President Donald Trump Pens A Note About WWE Legend Hulk Hogan Following His Passing
On Truth Social, Trump penned a heartfelt note about The Immortal One.
He singled out the pro wrestler’s “electric speech” at the Republican National Convention in July 2024. He also pointed out the cultural impact Hogan had in America. It was The Hulkster’s popularity that infused mainstream relevance into Vince McMahon’s vision for the pro wrestling industry.
We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!” U.S. President Donald Trump wrote.
In his wrestling career, which commenced in 1977, Hogan had wrestled for various promotions like WWE, WCW, and TNA. He has portrayed both the “good guy” and the “bad guy” on-screen, attaining massive celebrity status. He has also worked in films and ventured into other businesses as well.
The Immortal One’s last WWE match was at SummerSlam 2006, where he wrestled then-up-and-comer Randy Orton in a winning effort. He then moved on to TNA, where he continued to perform in an in-ring capacity. Hogan finally hung up his boots in 2012.
When Hulk Hogan Was Torn Up Discussing Donald Trump’s Assassination Attempt
On the PBD Podcast last year, Hogan noted that he was utterly disappointed and heartbroken by the state of affairs following Trump’s assassination attempt while the latter was speaking at an open-air campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He was shot and wounded in the upper-left ear.
When they tried to kill Trump, someone that I knew personally, it affected me worse and I sat up off the couch. I said that’s it, this has to stop. I don’t want to split my audience as a businessman, but now I don’t care. This is much more than business, this is a spiritual revolution now. This guy is coming out trying to help people, he wants to help millions of people, he wants to help America have God in our country and our homes and our schools, and I said I can’t handle it,” Hogan said.

The 45th President of the United States is known to have several close friends from the pro wrestling industry. Perhaps Hogan was one of his earliest friends.
It remains to be seen how The Hulkster’s death will impact his last venture. He was set to collaborate with Eric Bischoff and Kurt Angle, among others, with Real American Freestyle Wrestling.
