The outcome of the Vince McMahon lawsuit could be changed depending on the result of the 2024 US Presidential Election.
On January 25th, former WWE employee Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon of sex trafficking and multiple counts of sexual misconduct. As a result of the allegations, McMahon resigned from his executive position at TKO Holdings while still denying all charges.
Still the subject of an investigation, McMahon has yet to offer a settlement or go to trial over the alleged charges. However, there is a belief that if McMahon is charged they may be dropped if Donald Trump returns to The White House. Trump and McMahon have been linked for a number of years with both being long-time friends and a part of the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23. Additionally, McMahon was pictured with Trump in The White House when Trump was elected for his first term.
A recent article published by NBC gave an insight into Vince McMahon’s day-to-day life and how he is handling the allegations. It is stated in the article that McMahon and Trump keep in regular contact. A follow-up report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter adds that many are under the belief that McMahon would be pardoned by Trump if the former President of the United States is elected for a second term. Additionally, Trump remains closely linked with Vince’s wife Linda McMahon:
They say he has spent a lot of time on the phone with his legal team and has been in touch regularly with Donald Trump. While not in the article, many believe that in the event there are any charges brought against him and Trump wins the election, he would be pardoned. It also noted that Linda McMahon is on the Board of Directors for the publicly traded Trump Media and Technology Group stock.
Vince McMahon Continues To Sell Company Stock
Following McMahon’s resignation, TKO Holdings has done everything possible to remove all traces of the disgraced former Chairman from existence, refusing to acknowledge him on WWE programming and at corporate events unless asked by reporters. Although no longer a part of the company, McMahon has been regularly selling off his TKO stock, which has already earned him over $1 billion from sales alone. Only owning a small percentage of the company, Vince McMahon recently put up all of his remaining shares for sale.
