WWE legend in favor of seeing United States President Donald Trump at John Cena‘s final match.
With John Cena’s Farewell Tour almost coming to a close, discussions regarding the details of his final match began. As per reports, his last match will take place on Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII on December 13. However, there is still no confirmation regarding the location.
Many thought John’s final match would take place in his hometown in Boston, Massachusetts, or even in the United Kingdom, after expressing his fondness for the place several times in the past. However, it was later reported that WWE had a bidding war to determine where Cena’s last match would occur, and Washington, DC, reportedly outbid Boston.
With John Cena’s final match possibly taking place in Washington, DC, the home of the White House and the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, WWE legend Eric Bischoff expressed interest in seeing the latter during the event.
Eric Bischoff Says John Cena Is The Epitome Of America
In the latest episode of 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff, the topic of John Cena wrestling in Washington, DC, for his final match was discussed. Although many weren’t on board with this decision, the WWE legend had no problem with it. Eric considers John the representation of the USA and stated that since professional wrestling is mainly an American sport, it’s only fitting that he wrestles in Washington.
John Cena is kind of like apple pie to me, man. He’s America. This is an American sport. Professional wrestling as we know it. Yes, it exists all over the world, but it is inherently an American genre that was created here and grew here and influenced everyone else around the world, this unique sports entertainment style of wrestling. And I think John as much as anybody, represents America. So, I hope so.”
Additionally, Eric said that he hopes Donald Trump would be involved in Cena’s retirement match, as WWE and the sport in general represent the United States of America.
I hope President Trump gets involved. I hope so. Because WWE and professional wrestling, sports entertainment as we know it, is so profoundly American that I couldn’t think of a better place for it.”
