Raw Superstars Dominik & Rey Mysterio made a surprise appearance on the latest episode of NXT 2.0!
After defeating Cameron Grimes in a match to gain entry into the NXT North American Championship ladder match at the upcoming Stand & Deliver show in Dallas, Santos Escobar and Legado del Fantasma were interviewed backstage. As they were celebrating Escobar’s chance to once again hold a title in NXT, Dominik and Rey Mysterio joined the interview.

Rey insisted that Santos Escobar wasn’t the future of Lucha Libre; instead, he said, that honor belonged to his son Dominik. When Legado del Fantasma laughed at the idea of Dominik being better than them, the young Raw star insisted that he would take on whichever one of them had the guts to face him. Raul Mendoza accepted the challenge, and the two faced off later in the evening.
Though things looked grim for the younger Mysterio when Elektra Lopez attempted to interfere on behalf of Mendoza, Fallon Henley confronted Lopez and was accompanied by Briggs and Jensen to even the odds, allowing Dominik to get the win.

Dominik Mysterio is one of the few WWE Superstars to debut directly on the main roster without first spending time in NXT. While he made various appearances alongside his father throughout his childhood, he made his first appearance as a WWE Superstar on March 19, 2019. He was heavily involved with Rey Mysterio’s feud with Brock Lesnar leading up to their WWE Championship match at Survivor Series.
Dominik’s first match took place at the 2020 edition of SummerSlam, where he lost to Seth Rollins. He and his father have been a tag team since late 2020, and the two became SmackDown Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania Backlash in April 2021. They remained champions until they were defeated by the Usos at Money in the Bank.
