Dominik Mysterio might have a new challenger at hand during this week’s episode of WWE RAW.
“Dirty Dom” successfully retained his title last week on RAW in Paris against AJ Styles. With that, he has now reached 142 days since winning the title on Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 on April 20 in a Fatal Four-Way match against Penta, Finn Balor, and deposed champion Bron Breakker.
As of right now, Dominik Mysterio doesn’t have an official challenger since Styles has lost twice to him, the other one being from SummerSlam. In a backstage segment, Penta pleaded with General Manager Adam Pearce to give him an Intercontinental Title shot, but Rusev suddenly appeared.
The two superstars went at it, and Pearce immediately scheduled a match between them for the very first time.

During the match-up, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and Grayson Waller arrived to the ring to distract Penta, who has been a thorn in their side. El Zero Miedo took out the trio but got walloped by The Bulgarian Brute with a right hand.
The masked luchador retaliated by executing his famed Mexican Destroyer on Rusev, only for a near-fall.

As the closing moments of the match arrived, Penta tried everything in his power to take down the monster that is Rusev. However, Xavier Woods of The New Day provided the distraction once again to the masked luchador.
El Zero Miedo eventually recovered, and when he was about to unleash his aerial offense, The Bulgarian Brute surprised him with a Machka Kick to secure the victory on WWE RAW. With the victory, Rusev is now the new challenger for Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Right now, Dirty Dom hasn’t addressed his new opponent for his title as he’s currently focused on taking the AAA Mega Championship away from El Hijo del Vikingo in their upcoming title match at Worlds Collide in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It will be interesting to see how he will react to the prospect of facing The Bulgarian Brute.
