A new title match has been added to the card for this Saturday’s WWE Backlash event, as Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is set to defend his title against Penta.
The announcement was made during Monday’s episode of Raw, confirming that the long-simmering rivalry between Mysterio and Penta will continue at the premium live event on 10 May in St. Louis, Missouri.
The two previously clashed at WrestleMania 41 in a four-way match, where Mysterio captured the Intercontinental Championship in a contest that also featured Penta. Their feud intensified on the Raw following WrestleMania, when Mysterio narrowly retained his title against Penta after interference from JD McDonagh.
This week’s Raw saw Penta take on McDonagh in a heated encounter, ultimately defeating him to earn another shot at the gold. With the victory, Penta secured his rematch and now prepares to face Mysterio on a much bigger stage.
Saturday’s Backlash event will feature five confirmed matches. The pre-show begins at 5 p.m. Eastern (10 p.m. BST), followed by the main card at 7 p.m. Eastern (midnight on Sunday BST).
The full card is as follows:

- Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship
- Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta for the Intercontinental Championship
