Dominik Mysterio finally did it and has surpassed his legendary father, Rey Mysterio, to become the King of all Luchadors.
In a hard-hitting main event of Worlds Collide, Mysterio faced El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship. Backstage, an over-confident and arrogant Dominik faced Rey Mysterio, telling him to raise his hand and put the belt around his waist when he becomes the champion. Finn Balor also stopped by, insisting Dominik earn this win on his own.
When the bell rang, both men traded power moves. The action soon spilled outside, where Balor and JD McDonagh rushed in to flip the match in favour of Mysterio, only for Dragon Lee to even the odds. Balor handed Mysterio a metal plate to put in his mask to deliver a devastating headbutt, but it backfired as Vikingo hit him with a superkick and knocked him out.
Soon after, Rey made his way to the ring with a steel chair in hand, to neutralise Balor and McDonagh. As the match continued inside the ring, Dominik’s new ally, El Grande Americano, sneakily appeared on the ringside to help him win the match. Vikingo tried to assault and unmask Americano while the referee was trying to stop the champion. With the referee distracted, Americano found the perfect opportunity to slide in a metal plate, which Mysterio used and delivered a flying headbutt.
History has been made.

Why Is This Win Historic for Dominik Mysterio?
Up until now, Mysterio used to call himself the Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, but without any proof, nobody believed him. But today, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he just showed exactly what he meant. Dominik forcefully made Rey put the title around his waist and was clearly upset by the match result.

Mysterio is not just the Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time; he is also the King of all Luchadors, along with the best Mysterio in WWE history. Mysterio defeated Vikingo, who was the most dominant star in AAA. This was the first time Vikingo ever lost a championship match since becoming the champion. His first reign lasted 833 days, and he was forced to relinquish the title due to an injury. But soon after recovering, Vikingo returned to his champion form and won back the title, and was in his second reign.
Dominik became the first Mysterio to ever hold the Mega Championship, surpassing his father, which made it even better.
