After months of teases, rumours and speculation Dominik Mysterio finally turned to the dark side at WWE Clash At The Castle.
Heading into Clash At The Castle all was not well in the Mysterio household. Rey was due to team with Edge to take on Judgment Day at the event and that didn’t sit well with his son Dominik. Considering the father and son team had been Tag Team Champions and have wrestled together for years, the younger Mysterio’s frustration was clear.
Despite Rey attempting to smooth things over by suggesting that he was teaming with Edge as he wanted to partner with an experience, the snub finally tipped Dominik over the edge.
After Rey and Edge scored the win over Finn Balor and Damian Priest the long-time friends embraced and celebrated in the ring. However, it quickly became clear that the younger Mysterio who had tried to get involved in the match earlier didn’t feel like celebrating.
After confronting the pair, Dominik delivered a vicious low-blow to Edge as his father looked on. As the Lucha Libre legend attempted to reason with his son, Dominik flattened Rey with a heavy clothesline before heading up the ramp as Judgment Day laughed along at the chaos.

Dominik Mysterio competed in his first WWE match back SummerSlam 2020. The star then began to regular team with his father shortly after and the pair became the first father and son team to win WWE tag team gold at WrestleMania Backlash in 2021.
For months WWE have teases distention between the pair but the hints were never acted upon, the storyline seemingly dropped, until now.
