Dominik Mysterio is not intimidated by Dragon Lee.
The NXT North American Champion is set to defend the title on the September 25th episode of Monday Night Raw. As Lee already has a victory over The Judgment Day member, is Mysterio concerned that his reign is under threat?
Speaking on the In The Kliq podcast, Mysterio discredited his opponent as an imitation of his father Rey Mysterio, and that Lee got lucky with the victory:
“Now, I wouldn’t say I’m intimidated by Dragon Lee. You know, I’ve dealt with guys like Dragon Lee my entire life growing up in this Lucha Libre style of wrestling, especially someone who’s trying to be like my dad. So, you can say I have some experience with it. So, I don’t think I’m intimidated by him at all. I’ve already beaten him. Unfortunately, he has also had a victory over me, but it was a fluke victory. I have a clean victory over him. So, I don’t think I’m really intimidated by it, and I see myself walking out still the NXT North American Champion.”
Dominik Mysterio Not Competing At NXT No Mercy
If Mysterio is successful in his defence of the North American Championship, it looks unlikely that he will be competing at the No Mercy Premium Live Event on September 30th. Mysterio was originally scheduled to defend the championship against Mustafa Ali at the upcoming PLE, but due to Ali announcing that he is no longer a part of the company, the match has been pulled from the card.
It should also be noted that WWE has not announced a replacement opponent or if the North American Championship will be defended at all at No Mercy.
H/t to Fightful.
