Dominik Mysterio Compared To The Rock By WWE Hall Of Famer

A WWE Hall of Famer believes that Dominik Mysterio’s upbringing will be a huge advantage in the long run.

The wrestling industry has often seen many second and third-generation stars break into the business, with Randy Orton and The Rock being notable examples. Being around the business from a young age, the sons and daughters of wrestling legends have been known to have that instinct in the business and can adapt to the WWE environment better. According to Mark Henry, Mysterio should be the latest name to be added to that list.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Henry assessed Mysterio’s journey in WWE so far and believes that growing up and watching his father Rey Mysterio has helped him:

“I put him in the same category as The Rock and the Harts and people that come from pro wrestling,” Henry said. “They have [a] legacy — Randy Orton. There are things that Dominik does that are just intuitive. You can tell he just picked it up. It’s not trained. I mean, you have a lot of reps, so I guess you can consider it to be trained, but he just does stuff that I’m like, ‘That’s a kid out there playing with his toys.’ He knows what he’s doing.

And all those years of watching his dad,” he continued, “and all those years of knowing what the bad guy did, knowing all of those things of what his dad had to fight through to get to be who he was. I think it’s paying dividends for him.”

Following a lengthy run as NXT North American Champion, “Dirty Dom” lost the title to Dragon Lee at NXT Deadline on December 9th.

AEW Stars Comment On Link With Dominik Mysterio

Despite only being in his 20s, Mysterio is frequently one of the most hated members of the Raw roster each Monday night. Frequently targeting his father Rey Mysterio in the lead-up to WrestleMania 39, The Judgment Day member frequently referred to his Hall of Fame father as a “deadbeat dad.” It’s this reason that two stars in AEW also believe that they have a common bond with Dominik Mysterio.

In regards to The Rock, the WWE legend has been announced in an executive role by TKO Holdings.
