Dominik Mysterio Challenges Rey Mysterio To A Match At WrestleMania 39

Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio

Rey Mysterio’s career might well be winding down, and his son Dominik is looking to be the man to end it.

The two men have been at odds since Clash At The Castle when Dominik turned his back on his father by hitting him with a devastating low blow. The betrayal saw Dominik join forces with Judgment Day and Rhea Ripley.

Dominik and Ripley then set about making Rey’s life as miserable as possible. They turned up at his home on Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and even ran into them on Valentine’s Day. Things got so bad that Rey asked to be sent to SmackDown away from his son, but the move provided little respite.

In recent weeks Dominik has ramped up the heat and tried to provoke Rey into hitting him. But every single time Rey resists and refuses to fight his own flesh and blood. However, on the March 13th episode of Raw, Dominik finally laid down his WrestleMania challenge. But once again, Rey resisted saying that he won’t fight him before leaving.

Rey Mysterio Heading To The WWE Hall Of Fame

On the March 10th episode of SmackDown Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023. It was reported after the show that he will be inducted by Konnan.

Mysterio began his career at just 14 years old before starring with ECW, WCW, and eventually WWE. The Lucha legend signed with WWE in 2002 and quickly became a fan favourite. Mysterio is widely regarded as one of the greatest high-flyers in history, while he’s also credited with helping revolutionise cruiserweight wrestling in the United States.
