Dolph Ziggler Says He Thought He Might Die Wrestling Goldberg

Dolph Ziggler & Goldberg

Dolph Ziggler has shockingly revealed that wrestling Goldberg made him think about dying in the ring.

Speaking to XeniaDidThat, Ziggler discussed his career to date and how he has built the trust of WWE over the years. Toward the end of the interview, he was asked if ever thought about death before entering the ring.

The Show Off replied saying he didn’t think about dying inside the squared circle, apart from when in there with the former WCW Champion.

“A lot of times you don’t [think about dying in the ring] but maybe if you’re in there with Goldberg, you think about it a lot more.”

Dolph Ziggler and Goldberg have only had one match to date which took place at SummerSlam in 2019. Despite landing two Superkicks on his rival, Ziggler was quickly felled by a devastating Spear followed by a Jackhammer. In total the match lasted less than two minutes.

Goldberg is currently preparing to face Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel. The grudge match was announced after the WWE Hall of Famer repeatedly called out Lashley for attacking his son after their match at SummerSlam. Despite the now former WWE Champion’s protestations that the clash was accidental, Goldberg was having none of it.

After much back and forth in the weeks that followed, Goldberg challenged Lashley to a match. In a somewhat surprising move, Lashley said that he was willing to accept the challenge, but only if the match was No Holds Barred.

Unsurprisingly, Goldberg was more than happy to agree to the stipulation before threatening to kill his rival on October 21st.
