Dolph Ziggler has opened up on his history of working alongside AEW’s Vickie Guerrero, doing so on a WWE-branded show.
‘The Showoff’ worked alongside Vickie for several years, with the Guerrero matriarch even awarding Ziggler the World Heavyweight Championship whilst she was the acting SmackDown General Manager.
Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Dolph Ziggler has spoken fondly of his time working with Vickie, calling her one of the “sweetest women” he knows, despite the audience’s overtly negative reaction towards her:
“[John] Cena does so much outside of the ring also that everybody can be very proud of. So I get to kind of bust some stones in the ring with him, which is one of my favourite things. Vickie Guerrero and myself once confronted him, and it was back when I didn’t really talk, but she did.
And we had something to where it was in Texas somewhere. The crowd was booing so loudly so nonstop that we had to go to a commercial break instead of having our match and come back and wait because the crowd was so into hating her, one of the sweetest women of all time.”

Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero were aligned together for over two years, with the latter leading Ziggler to several championship victories. Their partnership concluded when Dolph instead formed a romantic relationship with AJ Lee.
Vickie Guerrero remained with WWE until 2014, being written off television after losing to Stephanie McMahon. She’s made only a handful of appearances since, including entering the 2018 women’s Royal Rumble match. She last appeared on the 1000th edition of SmackDown.
The one-time Miss WrestleMania has also made a handful of appearances for All Elite Wrestling, which included managing both Nyla Rose and Andrade El Idolo. She also provided guest commentary for a December 2019 broadcast of AEW Dark.
