Former WCW star Disco Inferno says that Braun Strowman was a “bigger deal” than Adam Cole and Ruby Soho amid rumours the giant is not heading to AEW.
The wrestling world was stunned when former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman was released from his WWE contract at the beginning of June alongside Lana, the then-Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett, Malakai Black, and Buddy Murphy.
Since then both Black and Riott – now Ruby Soho – have wound up in All Elite Wrestling. Many thought Braun Strowman could also be on his way to AEW but recent reports suggest the giant star’s next wrestling destination is more likely to be IMPACT Wrestling.
Speaking on Keepin’ It 100, the former WCW Television Champion Disco Inferno says that Braun Strowman could be good for IMPACT Wrestling and took some shots at AEW President Tony Khan:
“I think it’s good for IMPACT as they are at their lowest point, thanks to the help of Tony Khan, who won the Booker of the Year award. Speaking of which the other interesting news that came out was that AEW didn’t have a meeting with Braun Strowman. Apparently, he’s good not enough for the high standards of Tony Khan. Wrestling is not about the moves or matches but the crowds and the reactions. Strowman was a bigger deal than Adam Cole and Ruby Riott (Soho).”
Since joining AEW at All Out both Adam Cole and Ruby Soho have seen some success. Cole is undefeated in the company, defeating one of AEW’s four pillars, Jungle Boy, on AEW Dynamite. His theme song has also made it to number one in the iTunes metal charts. Ruby Soho won on her first night in the company, cleaning up in the Casino Battle Royale to earn a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. In her title match against Dr Britt Baker, Soho came up short, submitting to Baker’s debilitating Lockjaw.
