Disheartening news regarding the WWE Draft.
Aside from premium live events, one of the most looked-forward-to moments for fans of the Stamford-based promotion is the annual WWE Draft. This would allow stars from Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, or even NXT to get a chance to be transferred to a different brand.
Despite initial news that superstars would be exclusive to their brands, that hasn’t truly been followed. For the upcoming SmackDown show, RAW star CM Punk is going to appear there, among other superstars. Still, many look forward to the occasion to see potential new feuds and matches. However, it seems like that won’t happen this year.
In June this year, BodySlam.Net reported that the Stamford-based promotion was considering holding it post-SummerSlam, likely in September. It was also noted that due to the recent call-ups at the time, there hasn’t been a reason to reshuffle the roster, even noting it would be in time for the “season premiere episodes.”
Unfortunately, from the same site, it was recently reported that the Stamford-based promotion may have already scrapped plans to hold a WWE Draft this month, despite initial reports, possibly suggesting there won’t be a brand draft this year.
Per BodySlam Net, WWE may have scrapped plans for a Draft in September, despite reports from a few months back.

WWE Fans Can Look Forward To Another Exciting Event For September Instead
Although it seems like the Stamford-based promotion has shelved the annual brand Drafts, another exciting thing is still taking place this month.
As recently announced, WWE is going to bring back the ECW wrestling event, Wrestlepalooza. The premium live event will be the first under the World Wrestling Entertainment banner since 2000. It will take place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 20.
As of this writing, only one match has been confirmed, which is between Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY for the vacant Women’s World Championship. John Cena is also expected to be in action, rumored to be against Brock Lesnar.
