Diamond Dallas Page has boldly claimed that Chris Jericho is a modern day Ric Flair, before calling his entrance the “best in wrestling.”

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page has crossed paths with some of the finest performers to ever grace a ring, both past and present during his lengthy career, including Ric Flair and Chris Jericho.

While Jericho has appeared all over the wrestling map, in recent years he has become one of the mainstays of AEW. In early 2020 DDP also appeared with the company, in what is his most recent match to date. Speaking to DAZN, Page admitted that he currently prefers AEW to his former home WWE.

“I gotta give AEW the 60/40 (percent) thing right now. They are the cool thing on top. The biggest thing that I love about AEW is the fans (and) how the fans react. I wrestled there two years ago this January. I would never have done it if there were no fans. Cody’s (Rhodes, Dusty’s son) like my nephew, and I helped him a lot in the beginning, just with the production side.

Continuing on, Page heaped praise on Chis Jericho, describing AEW’s first-ever World Champion as this generation’s Ric Flair.

“Nathan Lowry, who was one of the guys who works for me and the guy who was the director of Jericho’s (song) “Judas.” They filmed Judas in my DDP Yoga Performance Center. That was one of those who changed Chris Jericho’s life. To me, Chris Jericho is the most over guy in professional wrestling. He’s Ric Flair. He’s Ric Flair now. He’s got 30 years, he’s still on top, he continues to reinvent himself, and he can still work ass off.

They’re singing his song. That’s got to be the greatest compliment ever. To me, it’s the greatest entrance in wrestling because the people are so involved with it.”

Chris Jericho signed with AEW in January 2019, going on to become the first-ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion that May at Double or Nothing. Jericho recently returned to television after taking time off for a short tour with his band Fozzy. Since returning the former WWE star has crossed swords with Eddie Kingston as well as 2Point0.
