Dexter Lumis vs. Cameron Grimes In Haunted House Of Terror Match AT NXT Halloween Havoc

Dexter Lumis Thumb

It was announced on last night’s edition of NXT, that Dexter Lumis and Cameron Grimes will collide in a Haunted House of Terror Match at NXT Halloween Havoc next Wednesday.

For several weeks now, both the unhinged Lumis and the cocksure Grimes have been going back and forth on NXT television in a feud that was planned for this summer but had to be put on hold when Dexter Lumis injured his ankle in a Triple Threat Match on the July 29 NXT.

Upon his return to the brand on September 30, Lumis immediately targeted Grimes when he stared him down during a backstage segment. The rivalry took a more serious turn last week, when Cameron Grimes became involved in his foe’s NXT North American Championship Match.

As Dexter Lumis challenged Damian Priest for the brand’s second most important prize, Grimes snuck into the affray behind the referee’s back and dropped his rival with The Cave In which allowed the unknowing champion to pin his challenger with South of Heaven.

The rules for the Haunted House of Terror Match are yet to be confirmed, but the option is there for another of WWE’s cinematic matches should the brand choose to go down that route.

WWE have had a wealth of cinematic matches since the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted everything. The most entertaining of these were The Boneyard Match and Firefly Funhouse Match at WrestleMania 36.

The card for NXT Halloween Havoc shapes up like this:

  • Damian Priest vs. Johnny Gargano – NXT North American Championship Match: Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal
  • Io Shirai vs. Candice LeRae – NXT Women’s Championship Match: Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal
  • Dexter Lumis vs. Cameron Grimes – Haunted House of Terror Match
  • Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Gonzales
