The former Dexter Lumis, now known again as Samuel Shaw, has been announced for his first appearance since being released from WWE.
Dexter Lumis was one of ten NXT talents released from WWE on April 29th alongside regular NXT television performers Persia Pirotta and Dakota Kai. After it became public knowledge that he had been released, he reclaimed his name of Samuel Shaw and posted a video on social media that showed him painting a portrait of Vince McMahon as he provided his booking information.
Now, the star’s first post-WWE appearance has been booked. He will take part in Atomic Revolutionary Wrestling’s Born in Blood event in Melbourne, FL on June 24th. The news was announced by ARW representative Alex Red, who spoke with Fightful and told them that the event is being built around Shaw’s return to the independent wrestling scene. The name of the show is even taken from the television series Dexter, which was an inspiration for his name in WWE.

Dexter Lumis had been a high-profile part of NXT towards the end of 2021 when he was married on-screen to Indi Hartwell. Lumis competed in his last match on the brand on the 19th of April where he and Duke Hudson unsuccessfully challenged Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
