Ronda Rousey’s quest for tag team gold has been anything but straightforward.

On the March 3rd episode of SmackDown, the star had been due to team with Shayna Baszler to take on Natalya and Tegan Nox. However, the match was changed to a singles bout between Baszler and Nox after Rousey was involved in a brawl backstage. The star later accompanied Baszler to the ring with her arm in a make-shift sling.

It was later revealed that the angle was due to a very real injury to Rousey. The former UFC star was said to have aggravated an existing issue but would still be available for WrestleMania 39.

Meanwhile, a new report from PWInsider has given some more details on the exact nature of the injury. Mike Johnson notes that Rousey is dealing with a hairline fracture of her arm, but reiterates that there has been “no discussion” about her missing WrestleMania.

This news came after it was reported that Becky Lynch and Lita will be working both nights of WrestleMania. It has already been confirmed they will be teaming with Trish Stratus against Bayley and Damage CTRL, while they are still expected to defend their Women’s Tag Team Titles against Rousey and Baszler.

Ronda Rousey Forced Change To WrestleMania Plans

It was recently reported that current plans for Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania look very different from how they did originally. Back in November, Rousey was set to face Rhea Ripley with the SmackDown Women’s Title on the line. However, Rousey’s desire to win tag team gold forced a change. This led to the star losing the SmackDown Women’s Title to Charlotte Flair on the December 30th episode of SmackDown.

This paved the way for Rousey to team with Baszler to try and win the Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. Becky Lynch and Lita won the titles on February 27th, defeating Damage CTRL in the main event of Raw via an assist from Trish Stratus.
