Details On Reason Behind Cleopatra’s Egg Storyline, When It’s Expected To End

The Rock Ryan Reynolds Cleopatra's Egg

A new report has shed light on just what was going on at Survivor Series when Vince McMahon introduced Cleopatra’s egg to the WWE Universe.

In one of Survivor Series’ more bizarre tales in recent years, an egg was the talking point at the event, thirty-one years after the Gobbledy Gooker debuted at the event.

But this was no turkey egg, this was Cleopatra’s golden egg that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon brought with him to the event in Brooklyn. The egg was there as part of a tie-in between The Rock’s new movie Red Notice which was sponsoring the show. The Rock was celebrated throughout the night as Survivor Series marked the 25th anniversary of The Great One’s WWE debut.

McMahon was seen arriving at the event with WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville to a warm reception from the amassed WWE Superstars. McMahon showed off Cleopatra’s egg – which was said to have a value of $100 million.

Later in the evening, Roman Reigns was seen entering McMahon’s office and the WWE Chairman took great delight in showing off his gift from The Rock to The Tribal Chief. As McMahon ran down The Rock’s start in the company, he explained The People’s Champ had gifted the valuable egg to McMahon as a thank you. When McMahon remarked on the price tag, Reigns replied that it matched the value of his next WWE contract.

Vince McMahon was seen later in the evening with Deville and Adam Pearce in his office and by now the golden egg had gone missing. McMahon ordered Sonya Deville to call the police, while he ran through a list of suspects with Pearce. The boss then ordered Adam Pearce to interview every WWE Superstar about the apparent theft to find the culprit.

Now Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that the reason for the Cleopatra’s egg story appearing at Survivor Series was definitely as a result of a partnership between WWE and Netflix to promote Red Notice.

The report says that the promotion has netted WWE “a nice payday” and the storyline of the missing egg is expected to wrap up on Raw.
