R-Truth is back in WWE as Ron Killings, and the real story on what happened continues to emerge. The past week has been a roller-coaster of emotions for the WWE Universe, but sources have just provided a significant update from backstage.
R-Truth shockingly announced his WWE departure over one week ago. The veteran Superstar received immense support from fans and industry insiders, with crowds chanting for Triple H to re-hire the former World Heavyweight Champion.
WWE Money In the Bank brought Truth’s return as Ron Killings, blowing the roof off the Intuit Dome. The surprise comeback saw Truth deck friend-turned-rival John Cena with a belt shot as the Undisputed Champion and Logan Paul were defeated by Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. It was later revealed how WWE President Nick Khan took control of the Killings situation.
Ron Killings aka R-Truth Signs Interesting WWE Contract
R-Truth is signed to a special WWE contract that will allow him one true final run, according to Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net. The deal was described as one that is not a “normal active working talent deal,” and one source claimed it was finalized on Friday.
Sources report that several people within WWE wanted Ron Killings to remain with the company, but not as an active competitor. PWInsider reports that the deal for Killings to return was put together over the last 72 hours. On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer summed the situation up.
“He’s back because of the fans, that’s the deal. He’s back because of the fans, they [WWE] saw the outcry. They [WWE] basically tore apart what they were gonna do [at MITB] when they brought him back and wanted to have the big moment,” Meltzer said.

Triple H claimed after Money In the Bank that Truth’s announced departure was all a part of the storylines. However, Killings’ son publicly disagreed in a post that has since been deleted.
