Deonna Purrazzo Opponent For NWA EmPowerrr Reportedly Revealed

Deonna Purrazzo

Mickie James may have floored Deonna Purrazzo at Slammiversary but a new report has shed light on Purrazzo’s potential opponent at NWA EmPowerrr.

Slammiversary saw talent from a veritable smorgasbord of wrestling companies make appearances as The Forbidden Door has seemingly been chained open. One of the surprises at the event was Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo’s challenger. To the delight of the fans in attendance that challenger turned out to be former NWA Women’s Worlds Champion, Thunder Rosa. Rosa has recently competed for All Elite Wrestling as well with this the Mexican star’s debut in IMPACT Wrestling.

The night wasn’t over for Purrazzo when she defeated her esteemed challenger as she was confronted by Mickie James. James was released from her WWE contract in April and has recently turned up in the National Wrestling Alliance. She recently announced she was putting together an all-female event in conjunction with NWA offering women of every company the chance to come together to put on a show.

Her advances towards Purrazzo for an appearance at NWA EmPowerrr were somewhat rebuffed by The Virtuosa but the current Knockouts Champion is scheduled to appear at the event.

Fightful Select has reported that James is not Purrazzo’s planned opponent for the event despite Mickie James laying out Purrazzo with a Mick Kick to end their segment. Their report says that Deonna Purrazzo will be stepping in the ring with another stalwart of the NWA women’s division and former WWE Superstar Melina.

The belief is that the confrontation between James and Purrazzo will lead to a match between the two stars further down the line.

Melina recently teamed with Purrazzo’s Slammiversary opponent Thunder Rosa at NWA When Our Shadows Fall, falling to defeat at the hands of former IMPACT stars Taryn Terrell and Kylie Rae.
