Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo may be set to follow in Kenny Omega’s footsteps as she seeks to add new championships to her resumé.
Not content with ruling just one women’s division, ‘The Virtuosa’ is set to challenge Mexican promotion AAA’s Reina de Reinas champion Faby Apache at their upcoming TripleMania event.
Both women will be putting their belts on the line, with the winner walking away as a dual champion.
Ahead of this clash, Purrazzo decided to test the water in AAA by wrestling a former Reina de Reinas champion in Lady Shani at the Verano De Escandalo show this past weekend.
Purrazzo was successful in the match, tapping Shani with the Fujiwara Armbar, but found herself on the receiving end of an attack by Faby Apache following the bout.
TripleMania is currently scheduled to take place on August 14th, leaving plenty of time for further interactions between the two.
Purrazzo has held the Impact Knockouts Championship for a staggering 232 days (330 if you exclude Su Yung’s 21-day title run in between) and has defended the belt on 9 occasions against the likes of Taya Valkyrie, Jazz and Rosemary.
The 40-year-old Apache scooped the Reina de Reinas championship at May’s Rey de Reyes event, winning a six-way elimination match to claim the title that had been vacated by Taya Valkyrie.
