“Deal In Place” For WWE To Sign Brian Pillman Jr

Brian Pillman Jr

A deal to take Brian Pillman Jr. to WWE is reportedly all but done.

Brian Pillman Jr. left AEW on July 11th following the expiry of his contract. The star was immediately linked with a move to WWE and was spotted at the Performance Center leading many to believe it was only a matter of time until he put pen to paper.

However, a report on July 21st suggested that while there might be interest any deal would have to wait until the merger between WWE and UFC is complete. Interestingly, it appears that a deal is very much still on the table.

A new report from Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net has suggested that a “deal is in place or is in the process of being finalised before it can officially be signed.” This will see Pillman Jr. move to Orlando, Florida by the end of August and report to NXT and begin training at the Performance Center full-time.

Brian Pillman Jr. Has A “Huge Opportunity” Lined Up

The report comes after the former AEW star said that he’d got a “huge opportunity” on the way. Speaking during a virtual signing, Pillman Jr. addressed his future.

“It’s a tough business and it’s a long road to the top if you want to rock n roll. Being here today and getting to reminisce about some of the past moments of my career has really cheered me up and put me in a position to where I’m excited for the future. There is a lot to come, I can’t speak on it right now, it’s kind of in the works. I have a huge moment, a huge opportunity coming up in my career to continue making memories, to continue coming up with new gear ideas and sharing my version of pro wrestling with you all. Thank you for supporting me.”

Pillman Jr.’s father Brian Pillman famously signed with WWE in 1996 after leaving WCW in highly controversial circumstances. The star was working for the company at the time of his untimely passing on October 5th, 1997.
