Dax Harwood Names Suprising WWE Star As His Current Dream Match

Dax Harwood

Dax Harwood’s dream match is not in AEW.

While the FTR member has competed in some of the greatest tag team matches in recent years, there is a singles match still on the bucket list for the former Tag Team Champion.

While being mainly recognised as a tag team wrestler, Harwood has also been praised for his individual ring work while being a part of All Elite Wrestling. Highlights of Dax Harwood’s singles career include matches against Bryan Danielson, CM Punk and his own partner Cash Wheeler.

Dax Harwood Wants To Have A Match With Current WWE Champion

If the Forbidden Door between WWE and AEW were to eventually open, Harwood’s dream opponent would be current Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

Speaking on the FTR Podcast, Harwood revealed the current WWE Champion is a dream one on one match for him:

“I would say probably GUNTHER maybe No. 1. I’ve watched a lot of his stuff this year, and I missed out on a lot of the independent stuff he did overseas a while back because I was just traveling so much. But I’ve watched a lot of his stuff, and I think he and I could do some good business.”

Gunther has been highly praised since transitioning from NXT to the main roster. The Ring General was recently credited for the record breaking performance at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where the leader of Imperium set a new record for the longest time spent in a standard Royal Rumble match, lasting over 70 minutes in the Battle Royale.

The current Intercontinental Champion has also set another record for the historic length of the title reign. This could come to an end on the February 17th, which is the next time the title will be on the line. Gunther will defend the championship against Madcap Moss on the show, in what will be Moss’ first ever title match in WWE.
