Dave Meltzer’s AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 Match Ratings Revealed

AEW rolled into Las Vegas on May 28th for its second pay-per-view of the year Double or Nothing.

The card was headlined by the wild Anarchy in the Arena match between The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club. The match featured a surprise heel turn, thumbtacks, barbed wire, a leafblower, cutlery, and even an exploding Superkick.

In the end, it was the BCC that grabbed the win after Konosuke Takeshita turned his back on Kenny Omega to align with Don Callis, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli.

Elsewhere, Jade Cargill’s undefeated streak finally came to an end, but not at the hands of her scheduled opponent. After Cargill dispatched Taya Valkyrie, Mark Sterling laid down an open challenge that was answered by a returning Kris Statlander. This led to a short match that saw Statlander triumph and Cargill lose both her TBS Title and undefeated record.

MJF retained the AEW World Championship in the first of two main events with victory over Darby Allin, Jungle Boy, and Sammy Guevara.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has now revealed his match ratings for the night’s action. The highest-rated match of the night was Anarchy in the Arena which was awarded five stars.
