Dave Meltzer has reviewed WWE SummerSlam.
As published in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer has given his thoughts and star ratings for the recent Premium Live Event that took place in Cleveland, Ohio.
The show was one of the most newsworthy events of the year with the return of Roman Reigns being the biggest talking point from the event. As many expected, Reigns appeared during the main event of the show and attacked Solo Sikoa to allow Cody Rhodes to capitalise and retain the Undisputed Championship in a Bloodline Rules match.
Four title changes took place on the show as Bron Breakker won the Intercontinental Championship, LA Knight won the United States Championship, Nia Jax won the Women’s Championship and Gunther won the World Heavyweight Championship. In the only non-title match to take place at SummerSlam, Drew McIntyre finally got revenge on CM Punk as he defeated Punk with Seth Rollins counting the winning pin as the guest referee.
