Dave Meltzer Confirms Logan Paul Will Open WWE SummerSlam

Logan Paul on WWE Raw

Logan Paul vs. Ricochet will be up first at WWE SummerSlam.

At the summer spectacular in Detroit on August 5th, Logan Paul will look to get back to winning ways when he takes on Ricochet. The feud between the pair sparked to life back at the Royal Rumble and came to something of a head — as Paul’s head — collided with two tables at Money In The Bank.

With the bad blood continuing, the two are now scheduled to meet at the biggest party of the summer. Interestingly, Logan Paul revealed he’s asked to open the show, as he wants to see his brother fight Nate Diaz on the same night.

Reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Paul seems to have got his wish from WWE management.

“Yeah, he [Logan Paul] is going on first and then flying to Dallas to see the big fight with Nate Diaz, which is starting to get some publicity. They’re on everywhere as far as pay-per-view, ESPN+, DAZN and regular television pay-per-view. There is a lot of stuff going on that night. SummerSlam is big, will have a couple of million viewers.

SummerSlam and Collision will be interesting, we will see what kind of effect WWE has on Collision, and it’s a big one. But Collision are not throwing in the towel, they are going with the Ricky Starks and Punk match with Ricky Steamboat as the outside enforcer. There is a UFC fight with Cory Sandhagen.”

What Does Ricochet Really Think Of Logan Paul?

During a recent interview, Ricochet opened up about his life and career, as well as his rivalry with Logan Paul. The high-flying star said he didn’t have any preconceived ideas about what the star would be like and went on to credit him for the work he’s been putting in at the Performance Center.

While both Superstars are hoping that the match will go viral, Ricochet has revealed one move he won’t be executing ever again.
